Paresh Bhanushali

The logistics industry in India has seen gradual growth like most other countries in the world since the adoption of globalization...

But there has been a shift in this gradual growth, it has picked up a pace!

Now ranking 38th in the 139 countries index, India has grown its roots much deeper in the logistics business! A significant improvement from the country's previous ranking, 44th in 2018 and 54th in 2014! At this pace, India's logistics business is estimated to touch $330 billion by the end of 2025! And with the introduction of new Government Policies, technological developments and increasing use of Artificial Intelligence, we can expect to see an even bigger rise in the logistics industry in the next decade!

Being part of this business for more than 15 years, I can see some great new reforms and stable growth in the industry in recent times... A strong indicator of India’s global positioning in the Logistics Sector from my perspective. Our business has seen an introduction ensure first and last-mile connectivity, for seamless movement of people and goods.

India's global position in the logistics business has risen along with the development of technology. That too in all segments of the logistics industry, whether it is B2B or B2C or D2C logistics, eCommerce, inbound and outbound logistics, freight forwarding or dropshipping, technology has driven all of these segments to new heights!

In my two decades in the logistics business, I've seen that India has gradually given more importance to #MultimodalTransport solutions. This segment has numerous dimensions, but technological developments have made the convergence of various modes of transport very easy and have improved the way Multimodal Transport Services are offered by Indian logistics companies.

And in recent times, #ArtificialIntelligence (AI) led automation has become an integral part of not only the Multimodal Transport Services but the entire logistics sector! These AI-driven automation solutions have improved warehousing and customer services. From warehouse management to inventory calculations, from supply chain management to customer support service, from cargo consolidation to freight forwarding, every aspect of the business is directly or indirectly affected by AI advancements.
